I had Kiko/Spanish Goats before, but had to let them go. Long story short: A former friend had Nigerian Dwarfs, but never milked them, or even took care of them properly. People kept asking why we had milk goats, if we never milk them. I often wondered that same. I too later got some Nigerians, because he said his was dying from being too inbred.
Later I decided I wanted dual purpose meat milk goats. I had done the research, and decided that the Kiko/Spanish Goats were the way to go. However, However; i wanted them to be a bit smaller. So i was going to breed them with my Nigerian buck, to make what I was going to call; a Skigerian. But unfortunately; my so called friend killed my prize buck, and thats when we started having our falling out.
I ended up selling all my goats, and got rid of the worthless eater of a friend that was moochimg off me and my land. Well, that friend stole some of my goats, but I sold what was left. After I got rid of him, I regrouped. I ended up getting a miniNubian buck, and was going to go that route; but they tend to be too small. So im going to try the Skigerian project yet again.
So i bought these two sisters, Lucy and Maria. They are almost 50/50 Kiko and Spanish Goat mix. They are 3/8 Kiko 5/8 Spanish, thats the closesti couldfinf to 50/50. Bonus, they came with spots; everyone loves Spotted goats. Double bonus; Bucky has spot DNA, his brother was loaded with spots, and his mother was spotted as well.
Instead of breeding them with a Nigerian, im going to breed them with my miniNubian. This will give me bigger offspring. The grandchildren might be too small, so I will sell them as miniNubian milk goats. The children will be for sell as meat milk milk goats.
